Darnhall Primary School PE school vision statement
For all children at Darnhall Primary School we provide excellence in PE through promoting healthy active lifestyles, engaging in competitive activities and developing determination to excel in a broad range of PE activities. We want all children to become physically literate through the delivery of high quality Physical Education, School Sport & Physical Activity, whilst raising awareness of Health & Wellbeing that will lead to lifelong participation and enjoyment of sport and physical activity. Our scheme of work Complete PE helps to do this and offers a wide range of opportunities for our children. We hope to inspire, enthuse and motivate our children into a life- long interest and engagement with PE in its many different forms.
School Games Mark
Darnhall primary school has actively engaged in the School Games Mark for a number of years. For the past four years, we have been awarded the Gold level for participation in competitions and promoting healthy life styles throughout our school. In recent years, not only have we achieved the Gold level, we have also been awarded the Virtual School Game Mark award which can be seen below. This was awarded due to our efforts in continuing our motivation and encouragement for Physical Education during the pandemic.
Here are some pictures of recent P.E. lessons that have taken place at Darnhall primary school:

After School Clubs
There are lots of physical activity after school clubs on offer during the Summer term. Some of these include 'Shooting Stars Girls Football' led by Mr. Dunning. This club will involve active play through story telling using Disney to support the delivery. This club is aimed at those girls across the whole school who enjoy story telling and want to become more confident in PE. Mr. Dunning has been trained by the Cheshire FA to help support girls becoming more confident in PE and Football. He cannot wait to see lots of lovely faces at this after school club!
Mr. Baxendale is also leading a Cricket after school club for both boys and girls. This club will focus on striking and fielding skills and help children develop their cricket skills. The club is suitable for all age groups and he too is looking forward to seeing lots of faces at his after school club!
Mrs. Fife is leading a Hula Hooping after school club on the KS1 site and these will be on a Monday each week. These clubs will be specifically for Reception-Year 2 children.
Mrs. Chappell is looking forward to seeing lots of faces at her Dance club! This will also run after school on a Monday and children of all ages are welcome to attend.
Miss. Harrison will be leading a Tennis after school club for children of all ages as well!
